CASE STUDY: LUMBAR SPINE - LATERAL SHIFT

Day 2: follow up on next day
Patient was compliant with the exercise program prescribed and could repeat the exercises every 2-3 hours/ day. He reported an improvement in his sleep quality and also his gait pattern. On examination, there was an increase in his flexion ROM. He was recommended to continue with the same exercise with elbow against the wall, this time with a pillow support under the elbow to ensure full end-range of motion was achieved.
Day 3: follow up after 3 days
Patient was compliant with the exercise program prescribed and could repeat the exercises every 3 hourly. By this session the patient was walking without any problems and also achieved pain-free in bed transitions and getting out of the bed. On examination, he could perform full flexion, extension and side glide ROM without pain. Patient was taught recovery of function exercises to be continued by self at home, as it was not possible for the patient to visit further.
